First responders in Harford County were called to a Walnut Grove Road residence in Elkton early on Thursday, Nov. 17, where there was a reported fire that broke out inside the residence and rapidly spread.
Officials said that a neighbor noticed a large fire on the property that started inside a camper-trailer behind the home.
According to the fire marshal, upon arrival, members of the Singerly Fire Department found a woman suffering from critical injuries outside the home and a second victim inside a camper-trailer behind the house.
The 55-year-old man was found dead in a window, officials said, while the woman was able to get out of home with critical injuries.
Officials said that the injured woman was airlifted by Maryland State Police to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Burn Center for treatment and evaluation. Her condition was not immediately available as of 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.
A third man living in the home that was damaged was able to escape without injury. Investigators noted that all three of the parties are related.
It is unclear what caused the fire, which caused extensive damage to the residence.
No other information was initially released by fire investigators.
